Our mini-vaca in Mystic, CT

I'm still here! Life has been chaotic, crazy, and wonderful :) This week is especially crazy with it being the last week of school for Lilah, which means lots of school parties/gifts, and this weekend is Walker's baptism. So before I lose track of time, I wanted to just document some the happenings here in Tullyland :)
One of my best friends got married this past Friday in Mystic, Connecticut. Our anniversary was last week, so the hubby and I decided to make a weekend of it. Mystic is such an adorable seaport and we had the most amazing weather while we were there. Walker boy came along for our romantic get-away too :) Life with one baby is easy-peasy when you are used to caring for three! I had a friend babysit him at our hotel for the wedding and the rest of the weekend he just tagged along on our adventures and was such a little dreamboat!
Here he is livin' the good life at the hotel :)
The hubby and I snapped a quick selfie before the wedding ceremony...
(Fun fact: I taught my husband what a selfie was this weekend. He thought I was making that term up and made fun of me thoroughly before I proved otherwise.)

Such an amazing location for a wedding!
The stunning bride! I promised to send Lilah a picture of the bride/princess :)
This boy was all smiles!
I think he really enjoyed having some special time with just Mommy and Daddy :)
We spent Saturday exploring Mystic. We walked around in town, had lunch outside on the water, and then found a perfect little park at the tip of a peninsula where we set out a blanket and took a nap. Dreamy, right?!
Mystic Pizza!
Just a couple of scalawags!
Me and my boy at S&P Oyster Company for lunch :)
After our little snooze, we went to Skippers Dock and enjoyed some drinks and live music as the sun set. Total perfection!
Mystic is such a little gem. One of the many in New England. I didn't get tons of sleep because chubs-magoo was with us and still up to eat all night, per the usual, but it was still a really nice little getaway. Much needed before our busy summer begins next week!

5 Years

One magical day exactly five years ago, was the start of the greatest adventure of my life....
To my amazing husband,
I am so thankful every day that we found each other.
Thank you for making all of my dreams come true.
I am nothing but excited about what our future together holds!
Happy Anniversary!
xoxo

New beds for my big girls!

Adelle has been begging us for a big girl bed like Lilah's for the past several months. We got Lilah a bed when she turned 2, but she still preferred to sleep in her crib until she was around 2.5, and even then her only motivation was that her sister was going to sleep in her room with her once she slept in her big bed instead of the crib. I was very (very very very) hesitant to put Adelle in a bed for a number of reasons. 1.) She sleeps great in her crib - 12 hours at night and a 2 hour nap each day. 2.) She doesn't try to climb out of her crib. 3.) With a new baby, we are already shy on sleep in this house and you have no idea how a child will handle that sort of transition. And 4.) There have been a lot of changes for her with the new baby and I didn't want to add another disruption to her life, even though she made it very clear that she wanted a real bed. Every night she would climb into Lilah's bed and ask to sleep in there. So we finally decided that we were ready to make her dream a reality :)
I found these adorable twin bed sets at an antique store and my father-in-law painted them pink for me. On Saturday we went to Sleepy's and bought new mattresses for the beds. We had to get a new one for Lilah too so that the heights would match. Luckily her old mattress slides right under one of the new beds though, so we can pull it out if they ever have one of their friends or cousins sleep over. Neither my husband, nor I, have ever purchased a mattress before, so we thought we could just walk in, pick one out, and leave. Turns out mattress salesmen are just as bad as used car salesman. It was awful. Even when we were willing to pay full price for the ones we picked out, he was trying to negotiate a lower price with us! So weird. And he kept trying to push different mattress on us too. We liked the ones we picked out! Overall a terrible experience. We are in the market for a new bed for ourselves too, but I'm so turned off by the whole experience that I don't even want to think about shopping for beds again!
Anyway, we got the beds set up on Saturday. I also got them new bedding (on clearance from the shabby chic collection at Target!) This was their reaction when they saw their new beds all set up:

They are so precious! Adelle has told everyone she sees about her new big girl bed!
I was thinking about having the headboards monogrammed with an L and an A, or maybe their full monogram. What do you think? Is that overkill?

No Time = Bullet Points

It seems my posts are both infrequent and predominantly bullet point style these days. But that seems to be my life right now... I rarely have time to finish anything I start without several interruptions. In fact, I started this post over two weeks ago and have attempted to complete it several times, but am just now finishing it up! Life with 3 kids is....demanding. Like crazy demanding. When we went from 1 to 2 kids, I found it manageable. But 2 to 3 has been tough. I'm spread thin, to say the least. I don't have the time and/or metal energy to devote an entire post to each point, so instead you are getting a hodge podge of my thoughts!
  • First and foremost, PEOPLE I'M TIRED. So so tired. To think I thought I was tired when I was pregnant and I was actually sleeping! Baby boy is a big eater. Like every 2-3 hours STILL, big eater. And I said adios to the days of sleeping in or napping when baby naps when we decided to give our children siblings.  Obviously there is no point in complaining about it as I am his sole source of food, BUT I want to make note of it so that if amnesia strikes and I get baby fever again at some point, I am reminded of how newborn life REALLY is.
Honestly though, his little newborn bum curled up in my hand, his super soft newborn skin, fuzzy hair, sweet little squeaks are totally worth the lack of sleep :)
  • My local mother's group that I belong to created a meal train for me and it has been a LIFE SAVER!! Each week someone brings us a meal (which usually lasts 2 nights) and I can't even express how nice this has been. My friends can cook! The food has been so delicious and it really takes the pressure off of me. If anyone out there has a friend who is having their 3rd child...skip the cute baby outfit gift and bring them dinners!
  • I got this awesome Maxi skirt from Target.
It's a fun spring skirt, and most importantly, it hides the 20 lbs I STILL need to lose :/ I really need to start Weight Watchers because clearly this extra weight isn't going to fall off on it's own, but I just haven't even had time to sign up for it yet, let alone actually track any of my food intake. But I hate (hate hate hate) feeling so big and chunky. I want to be a hot mom, not a frumpy one. And I am in total frump mode. I want to make ME a priority, but I also have to be okay with that not being an option right now. It's a tough balance to accept.
  • Baby boy is officially out of newborn diapers AND clothes....like 3 weeks ago. LOL! This is what happens when you start posts and stop them a thousand times. Anyway my little chuncktster is getting so big already :(
  • Adelle has been suffering from a case of the TWOs big time these days.
She gets an idea in her head of what she wants and there is just NO changing her mind. She is also a little more clingy and whiney. I don't want to jump the gun and say that her recent attitude problem is the result of the having a new baby at home, but that could contribute to it. She is also getting her 2 year molars right now. It also could just be that she is very much a 2 year old. I remember this stage being tough with Lilah too. And it lasting a loooooong time....like 4 months or so before she snapped out of the whining, crying, emotional mess stage. That's a terribly daunting thought for me right now.
  • As bonkers as she is driving me with the daily major meltdowns, she also melts my heart a thousand times a day with her sweetness. Just little things like when she asked me if she could have some "hot totoa" (hot cocoa) after coming in from playing outside. Or when I ask her what she wants to eat and she says "Umm, I nuh know." I just want to bottle up her little two year old voice and pronunciation, it's so cute! And here she is nursing her baby, haha....
  • Also, my girls playing together = cutest things EVER!
I love watching them play and come up with different story lines for their doll house people or when they pretend to be animals and one is the dog and the other the mommy. The best is when one of them is making the other crack up, usually Adelle making Lilah laugh, as she is our little comedian. They are so so funny.
Don't get me wrong, they get into their fair share of fights as well, but overall they play really great together. I'm so grateful that they have each other, now and for their whole lives. Their personalities are COMPLETELY different (Lilah is more like me and Adelle is more like her Dad), so I'm hoping that that will continue facilitate in a favorable relationship for them.
  • Okay I think that's enough bullet points for now. Basically, life with 3 kids three and under is C.R.A.Z.Y.  For reeeeelz. Loud, busy, fun, demanding, adorable, crazy

Walker is One Month!

Oh sweet baby boy, how is it possible that you are already a whole month old? And yet, how have you not been part of our lives forever?! I know I'm your momma and I'm wired to think this, but you are just the cutest, sweetest little baby :) Seeing you curled up during tummy time or resting on your Daddy with your little bum in the air, it's impossible for us not to gush about how adorable you are!
You make me melt, little man! Even your cry is cute....
Look at that pout!
Here is a little of what you have been up to in your first month of life....
  • You are growing like a WEED! You weigh 10 lbs 7 oz (65%), are 22 inches long (65%), and your head is 37.5 cm (31%). You got down to 6.2 lbs during your first week of life but have been gaining like crazy ever since then. If I put on over 4 lbs in a month we would have some serious problems, but you, my little chow hound, are looking every ounce of baby perfection! Keep the chubby cheeks and extra chins coming! In fact, that's one of my favorite places to kiss you...right where those extra chins grow! There is just something so scrumptious about baby necks (even when you get a little sour milk smell every now and then, ha!).
  • You generally eat every 2-3 hours (usually 2) during the day, and the last several nights you have slept for 3-4 hour stretches between eating. You aren't on any sort of schedule, I just feed you whenever you fuss (or if my boobs start to hurt). I pumped for the first time the other day and got 5 oz AFTER you had eaten, so you are certainly consuming a big volume for a baby your age.
  • Overall you are a very calm baby, just fussing when you want to eat or need a little attention. You love when people talk to you, especially your Momma and sisters. You think Lilah is especially mesmerizing, and she is equally enamored with you :)
Here they are bringing you flowers they picked for you:
  • You aren't a huge fan of tummy time, but we usually get one or two 10 minute tummy time sessions in each day and you are doing better and better holding your head up. One day you decided that you just DID NOT want to be on your tummy though and you kept rolling over onto your back! At first I thought it was a fluke, but sure enough you did it again and again. Until I got my camera out and then you stopped...of course! Generally though, you just cry the whole time you are doing tummy time. Or you fall asleep, haha!
  • You looove a good cuddle and prefer to be held. You also like to be held upright, chest to chest, specifically. You spend a fair amount of time in the ergo carrier or wrap because of this. You also spend the hour before your sister's bedtime in the carrier as you always seem to be awake during that time and do not appreciate being put in a bouncy seat. You want to be part of the bedtime routine action! You have had a few bouts of pretty bad gas, which made you VERY mad. The only thing that would sooth you is being in the carrier or bouncing on a yoga ball. So at least we have a solution for your fussy times, even if they are few and far between. And sometimes you just need your Mommy. You can fuss and fuss for your Dad, but once you are in my arms, you completely melt and calm down. I not-so-secretly love this ;)
  • You also prefer to sleep as close as you can to your Momma at night. I can usually get you to sleep for part of the night in the cosleeper, but most of the night we are snuggled up close.
  • One of the most exciting moments for your Daddy and I in this past month has been seeing your smile make it's first appearance! It is too cute for words, little man! Your smiles are still infrequent, but when you are freshly awake in the morning, we can usually get a couple smiles out of you! And you have your Momma's dimple...just one of the right side. Mine is on the left...together we make a pair :)

Mother's Day 2013

I guess it's sort of obvious by my lack of posts that having 3 young kids is keeping me busy! Things are going well, there are just very few moments in the day when I have 2 free hands, so typing just isn't something I've been able to get around to lately :)
Anyway, we had a great Mother's Day weekend. We spent all of Saturday outside doing yard work and I got all of my planting done. Sadly, the only photo I got with all three of my kids was during a family trip to Home Depot to get some last minute gardening supplies.
I got to sleep in both Saturday and Sunday morning...amazing! I mean, I was still up all night nursing, so it's not like I woke up totally refreshed, but I did feel pretty close to normal, so I'll take it! We spent Sunday at my in-laws, but that morning my little munchkins cuddled up in bed with me after I woke up and showered me with gifts. Lilah and Adelle had both made me some adorable cards and crafts at school. And Lilah made me this beautiful corsage to wear :)
My babies also gave me this gorgeous necklace with three little hearts, each one engraved with one of their initials. It's kind of funny that their initials spell LAW...wonder if any of them will grow up to be an attorney (Lord help us!). I LOVE the necklace! It's just perfect for keeping my little angels close to my heart all the time.
And one of my best gifts for Mother's Day this year....baby smiles!!!!
Look at this face!
J'adore!
